"My childhood works were connected to the style I have now and I was just tapping into my creative flow and it wasn’t until I found some old artwork and drawings later that I realized that there were similarities to the style I had then and more than similarities its really just the same style but an evolution…I think it happens a lot with my work where its misinterpreted but that doesn’t really matter because its just getting a reaction and emotion out of people so I really like how it can go in any direction and you might feel some sort of way from what I did even though when actually it made me feel a different way or whatever the intention of what it was when I made something specific in my mind and someone saw something totally different that’s really exciting to me because in my mind it just actually opens up the possibilities to more connections to what I set out for…sometimes the intention is loose and sometimes its really specific because I’m suddenly interested in what I want to do so basically its just coming from a visual appreciation and I want to create something that is interesting to me and its more of an evolution and its just kind of keeping things fresh because I think that there was a short period of time where I was really wanting to develop that style of relief and I went too far and it was just getting really tired for me…I still look back at it and still love it and want to do more of it but what is so exciting about art is that you can do anything so I want to try and explore every different avenue… I think the glaze painting can be intimidating so I’m just in a total different realm and just taking the knowledge I have of glazes and just trying something different."
