Tameka Simmons, Woodworker

Tameka (Nikki) is originally from Savannah, Georgia. After careers in the Air Force, law enforcement and Engineering,  she opted for early retirement, which included an RV trip cross country that landed her in Santa Paula, California! She fell in love with the community of people, nature, the shared love of the arts, etc. She was blessed to meet a fellow woodworker, the Santa Paula Craftsmen, who opened her eyes to wanting to share her gift with others and also make California home. 

Tameka (Nikki) loves to pair wood with other materials that compliment whatever species of wood she’s working with. She loves to use lumber that comes from the local community, the avocado farms, etc. She loves looking at a piece of lumber and imagining what she can craft it into… a table, a mirror, wall art, etc
